In an effort to create a culture of kindness JAA participated in a kindness challenge. Studies have shown that promoting kindness among youth promotes self-confidence, positivity, and increased happiness. This year’s theme was “Reaching Out With a Kind-Hearted Hand” The week was devoted to doing as many acts of kindness as possible. The weeks activities included themed dress up days, daily kindness morning announcements, daily kindness classroom lessons and a mix-it up lunch to close the week. Students form KHS were invited to JAA to help facilitate mix-it up lunch. Both JAA and KHS students had a great time making new friends and sitting with peers they wouldn’t normally sit with. We are looking forward to making kindness week an annual week of fun.
