Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Jerrel Hyde
Welcome to Kennedale Junior High Math Department! My name is Jerrel Hyde and I am very excited about the 2019/2020 school year. This year I will be teaching 4 sections of 7th grade math, 1 sections of 7th grade math lab, and 1 section of 8th grade math. There are some students who must feel like they won the lottery. They had the pleasure of having me as a 7th grade math teacher and now they get me as an 8th grade math teacher. Shout out to (Do people still shout out?) Leah, Caden, Elise, Shiloh, Grayson, Joseph, Braelyn, Jessica, Ari, Kaleb, Alicia, Jordon, and Sergio!
I am married to Danielle Hyde, a freshman English teacher at Kennedale High School. We have three daughters: Allie, a 6th grader, Anna, a 3rd grader, and Adeline, a three year old who is throwing those tantrums.
We had a good first week. Students learned classroom procedures and began to adjust to KJHS expectations.
Main Idea: The classroom is similar to an office building. Therefore, students should act differently in classrooms than in less formal settings.
During this second week of school we will begin learning the 7th grade math curriculum and receive homework. This week at a glance:
Monday, 8/19: Number Sets
Tuesday, 8/20: Relating to Number Sets
Wednesday, 8/21: Adding and Subtracting Positive Integers
Thursdays, 8/22: Adding and Subtracting Negative Integers
Friday, 8/23: Test and Rational Numbers
