Music Education with Vocal Emphasis from SFASU
Mr. Matt Schenck
Welcome to the KHS Choir! I am so blessed by God to be starting my 12th year directing choirs in KISD!
I will be teaching Varsity and Junior Varsity choirs as well as directing the KJHS Girls and Boys Choirs.
My conference period is 5th period and I offer tutoring and make-up grades on Fridays, from 3:15-3:35PM. My choir detentions will be served on Wednesdays from 3-4PM in the choir room.
I have been a musician, singer, and performer my entire life! I love music and I love directing choirs and teaching voice to the hundreds of students I've encountered in my lifetime of teaching.
I have been blessed beyond all measure by God with my wife, Ondrea, for over 22 years that has continually loved me through all my blemishes, faults, and mistakes. God has blessed us with five amazing children, Micah, 17, Caleb, 16, Isaac, 13, Ethan, 11, and my princess Haven, 9.
I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1999 with a Music Education degree with Vocal Emphasis. In addition to spending time with my wife and children and directing these fabulous singers, I also love singing, reading my Bible, running, dancing, acting, the San Antonio Spurs, playing videogames, board games, card games, watching American Ninja Warrior, and playing basketball.
I'm super excited for this school year and I pray for the students that will be a part of my classes. If you have any questions throughout the year, please don't hesitate to email or call.
And let's remember to speak life to our children, praise them in the good times and help lift them up in the challenging times. May God bless you!
In Christ,
Mr. Schenck
