Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Danny Wilcox
Hello! My name is Danny Wilcox. I am beginning my 24th year in the education profession, and 9th year in Kennedale ISD. I am married to my beautiful bride Kerry, and we have a daughter Megan who will be a sophomore this year. We love to travel and experience new adventures in life. We can often be found at area lakes or at the beach in Galveston in the spring and summer, and in the woods in the fall as hunting season rolls around. I teach Aquatic Science, Biology, Archery, and Outdoor Education here at KHS. We have competition archery and bass fishing teams here at KHS that I help run as well. It is an honor and a privilege to work with your kids in the Kennedale community and is a job I do not take lightly. We will do our best to ensure your child's experience while attending KHS is filled with great memories and opportunities. I attended college at East Central University and graduated with a BS in Education in 1997. My school e-mail is email@example.com. Please use this to contact me with any questions. Daily lessons can be found on my Google Classroom page. If you are a parent and want access, let me know and I can add your e-mail to the class section that applies to your child and you can see what they are doing in class. I strongly encourage you to sign up for parent portal to track your childs academic progress, attendance, and use email for communication purposes.

I would like to take a quick minute to inform you about the opportunities available in KISD for your child in our Outdoor Education Program. New to 2019-2020 will be the first ever Kennedale Outdoor Education Booster Club! We encourage all parents/families who have children participating in our Outdoor Ed activities to join! Cost of joining the KOE Booster Club is only $20/family! We will also be a 501c3 organization, meaning you will receive tax exemptions for any donations/sponsorships! Help your taxes while you help our kids and programs please! We offer the following areas for participation at KHS.
1.) Outdoor Education Classes. These are held in the middle gym of the high school. We utilize a nationwide curriculum developed by the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation- a branch off of the Dallas Ecological Foundation. Kids have opportunities to earn their hunter safety and boater safety certification during this class. There is a state mandated fee associated with each certification- hunter ($15) and boater ($20). Of each paid fee, $10 goes back into our Outdoor Ed class to benefit the kids in the program. We also do National Archery in the Schools Program Archery, Angler Education, Dutch Oven Cooking, Camping, and numeroud other outdoor activities.
2.) Archery and Bass Fishing Teams. If you child is interested in either of these, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have had kids win scholarship money in the THSBA fishing tournaments, and had our first archery scholarship winner this past year as well! We look forward to continuing to build off these successes with a large group returning from both teams! There are no fees associated with the archery team. There are several fees and stipulations involved with the bass team. Please attend the bass team meeting the second week of school if interested in participating in the bass team.
3.) Outdoor Education Club. There is a $20 fee associated with the OEC. This fee pays for our entertainment (Adventures Unlimited canoes/kayaks/paddleboards), transportation, and food for a cookout at Lake Arlington at our end of year field trip. It allows students to put to use many of the skills they learn about in Outdoor Education Classes during the school year. This is traditionally a great trip for club members and chaperones that we all look forward to as school winds down.

Aquatic Science class reminders will also be posted on the Twitter page.
