Grant Application Guidelines

• Important Dates: 

  ● September 27, 2024- Call for Grants 

  ● October 18, 2024- Grants Due by 11:59 PM

  ● Secret Date Wildcat Pride Patrol 

  ● January 31, 2025- Requisitions submitted 

  ● April 11, 2025- All POs need to be closed. 

  ● April 26, 2025- Evaluations Due

• Activities not funded by any other means
• Student Achievement and Learning
• Sustainable projects
• Teaching Excellence and Innovation 

● The identified need must align to the KISD Mission, Vision, Strategic Plan, and curricular goals. 

● The proposal must be for projects designed to begin during the 2024-2025 school year. 

● Grants are for projects not funded through the school district budgets. 

● Grants may fund instructional and classroom materials, parent involvement programs, or any activity or material which supports higher levels of student academic achievement. 

● Grant must include how the project will be evaluated for success. 

● Project must have measurable objectives and a designated time for completion. 

● KEF will not fund grants with subscription services, continuing education requests, or for travel. 

• Individuals or teams of individuals employed by Kennedale School District who engage in the instruction of students or related support services benefiting students.

• If a grant involves multiple individuals a Grant Project Lead will need to assume overall responsibility for the project.

 

To be considered for the funding the application must- 

● Be submitted electronically on the Google Form. 

● Be explained in plain language. Avoid using acronyms or educational jargon for ease of review process. 

● Include a detailed budget with all costs- items being purchased and any related purchasing/shipping fees. 

           o You have verified your request can be supported through a District Approved Vendor. 

           o Make sure the grant budget total matches the budget details. 

● Be complete and signed off with appropriate approvals. 

           o Principal’s signature 

           o Reviewed by the Technology department if the request includes either hardware or software to                  ensure integration with existing technologies. 

● Submitted by midnight on October 18, 2024. Submission date and time will be determined using the Google form timestamp.

● Incomplete or late entries will not be considered.

● Use the award for the purposes intended. 

● Any changes to the budget, including type of expenditure or amount approved, must be submitted for approval. 

● Once the funds are available, it is the recipient’s duty to begin the purchase process and ensure all items are received in the same school year granted. 

● Grant Recipients will need to provide a final report/evaluation, including a one-paragraph summary for promotional purposes, for inclusion in the Annual Report of the Education Foundation. If you wish to be considered for future grants, fill out and return the evaluation. 

● Agree to potentially share your report and successes in staff development sessions. 

● Be willing to present the details and outcome of your project at an Education Foundation board meeting or other Education Foundation event.

● Grants awarded must remain on the campus. Should staff leave, the project is KISD property.

● The projects will be scored on their potential to positively impact class instruction, student needs, and academic achievement. 

● If recommended for approval, the grants will be presented to the KEF Board for review and formal approval. 

● If approved by the KEF Board, the grant summary will be presented to the KISD School Board for formal acceptance of the grant funds.

● The applicants selected will be notified by the Wildcat Pride Patrol on a date specified by the committee.

Each grant will be scored by a panel of independent judges who are not employees of KISD. Scoring will be based on the following criteria:

PURPOSE/GOALS OF PROJECT 

● Describe the area of student achievement you wish to address and give any data supporting the need 

● Keep the statement simple and straightforward. 

OBJECTIVES 

● Be clear and concise in stating grant objectives.

● State measurable objectives in terms of student behavior or performance.

DISTRICT INITIATIVES

● State how your grant request aligns back to the KISD Mission, strategic plan, Vision, or goals. 

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT 

● Project/program implementation is clearly stated and easy to comprehend. 

● Include a timeline of actions to complete. 

● Will you need support or collaboration from any other campus or district staff.

PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO PROJECTS THAT 

● Are innovative and “out of the box” ideas and provide an innovative approach to helping students learn.

● Motivate students to learn 

● Improve basic learning skills 

● Build positive self-esteem and the desire to succeed 

● Bridge cultural or ethnic barriers to learning
