Jared R. Smith is a product of the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. In addition, Mr. Smith is a product of the Dallas Independent School District, where he graduated from the Skyline Career Development Center. He holds a Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Masters of Educational Leadership from LeTourneau University of Longview, Texas. He has advanced hours towards his doctoral degree from Capella University. Mr. Smith holds professional educator certifications in Special Education, Music and Administration.

    Mr. Smith began his teaching career in his home district of Dallas ISD teaching from 2006 – 2010 in the South Oak and Pleasant Grove areas of Dallas. In November 2010, Mr. Smith was promoted to become Assistant Principal at the Dr. Emmett J. Conrad High School. In 2016, Mr. Smith brought his talents to the DeSoto Independent School District, where he served at Woodridge Fine Arts Magnet Academy and DeSoto High School.

    On a personal note, Mr. Smith is the husband of the lovely Mrs. Erica Smith and they have one daughter, Jordan Smith. In addition, Mr. Smith is a licensed minister and worship leader at the Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, where he has attended since his birth.

    Mr. Smith counts it a privilege to have received such diverse experiences in his professional career. He is extremely pleased to call Kennedale ISD his new home and is excited to see what the future holds for him.
