Howdy! Welcome to my class! My name is Tammy Bergere, and I will be teaching Algebra 1 at the High School this year. It is my first year at Kennedale High School after being at the Junior High for 12 years. This will be my 16th year in Education and my 13th year in Kennedale ISD. My first 3 years were at Paschal High School teaching Algebra 1 in the early 90's. I became a stay-at-home mother for thirteen years before returning to the classroom.
I am a very proud graduate of Texas A&M University (whoop!) with a bachelors degree in Curriculum & Instruction in Mathematics and Computer Science. My husband is also a graduate of Texas A&M University (whoop!) and works at the University of Texas at Arlington. I have two grown children. My son is currently a night manager at QT. My daughter graduated from Texas A&M University (whoop!) this past year with a Bachelors Degree in Dance, Psychology & Creative Studies. She is heading to Trinity Laban in London, UK to study for her Mastors in Choreography.
I was honored to be nominated and featured in Fort Worth Magazine's Top Teachers 2017.
I have a flexible seating classroom this year. Students will be able to choose the type of seat they learn best in (as long as they follow all standards for this choice). My class has music and lots of partner talk and movement for the best learning possible. Even if math is not their "thing", I hope students have an excellent and fun year in Algebra 1. Students should be challenged and engaged. I am very approachable for both students and parents. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Email is my preferred method of communication.
