About the Board of Trustees
The Kennedale ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven members, elected to serve by the citizens of KISD, without compensation, to act as our district's policy-making body. Trustees work with the Superintendent and staff to set the direction of the school district, with the education and well-being of the students as its primary focus.
Board members not only represent the public, but also translate the needs of the students into policies and goals and strategies that reflect the standards and values of the community as a whole. Following the election, the board elects a president, vice-president and secretary to serve for a one year term.
The upcoming board of trustee election that was scheduled for May 2, 2020 has been postponed to November 3, 2020 due to health and safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The places up for election are place 6 and place 7.
The candidate filing period to file an application for a place on the ballot was 5:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2020. The applications that were filed in a timely manner for the May 2020 election are preserved and filings for candidates will not be re-opened per the resolution from Governor Greg Abbott.
All applications filed are public records and open to inspection upon request. Completed forms are filed at the KISD Administration Building, 120 West Kennedale Parkway, Kennedale, Texas 76060.
