Returning Student Registration

Returning student registration will open in the ParentPortal on MAY 1, 2024.


PROOF OF RESIDENCE is required to be submitted with your registration each school year. Acceptable proof of residence documents are as follows:

  • Electric, gas or water bill (within 30 days)
  • Current lease - lease agreement must list the student occupants, show a beginning and ending date, and include the property address with signatures from both the lessor and lessee.
  • Residency Affidavit – If student AND parent are living in the home of another KISD resident, a Residency Affidavit must be submitted.  This form may be obtained from your child’s campus or the Administration Office, and MUST be notarized by a KISD employee.  A new affidavit is required each school year.
  • NOTE: No other documents will be accepted as proof of residency—including, but not limited to, termination/disconnection notices, telephone bills, cable tv/internet bills, insurance policies, etc.

IMMUNIZATIONS - Updated vaccine records are required for students returning to Kindergarten or 7th grade.  Students who are in Pre K, Kindergarten, and 7th grade must receive all Texas Minimum Required Stave Vaccines and documentation must be provided to the campus prior to enrollment. If you have questions regarding your student's vaccination status, please contact your campus Nurse.

To complete returning student registration forms and upload your required documents:

  • Click here to log in to the ASCENDER ParentPortal.
  • If you have forgotten your password, click "Forgot Password?" enter your User Name and click "Next."  You will be able to reset your password using your saved Security Question.  If you do not remember your User Name or Security Question answer, please contact your child's campus for assistance.
  • If you have a Parent Portal Account but do not have all of your students linked to your account, click "Add Student". You will need your student's Portal ID and birth date.  If you do not have your student's Portal ID, please contact your child's campus.
  • Click on the "Registration" bar below your student's name to complete the registration forms.  Once all forms are completed, click on "Finish and Submit to District".  Your student's registration bar should show 100%. Campus staff will review your submitted documents and contact you with any questions.
